Made this soup last night and then again tonight. It was just SO good we craved it the next day. It has the perfect amount of spice and it is so comforting yet light. I am OBSESSED.

Very good, very easy! Surprising amount of flavor given the low effort required.

I made this last night, right after it popped into my inbox (something I don't usually do). But it looked so fresh and delicious, and we love hot and sour soups. It did not disappoint! We had to double recipe and we just added all the options: yuba, tofu, and egg. Protein, right? We used a mix of edamame and peas. So refreshing on a warm spring evening with the breeze blowing in. Thank you!

Made this tonight, doubled the vinegar (red wine and rice vinegars), threw in some frozen peas, salted a bit along the way, added red cabbage at the end for some extra crunch and topped with green onions. Absolutely AWESOME! A great, savory, flavorful soup in under 20 min.

What a damn good photo—especially for soup. • Textural background • Focus on the ingredients, not too much broth • Vibrant & contrasting colors Also the meal was dope.

Hot and sour soup is an incredible comfort food that is also packed with vegetables! This recipe is very easy to whip up for lunch - took me about 30 minutes total and I already had the ingredients on hand. I added a bit more water and miso/aromatics because we love broth in this house, and topped it with lahtt chili oil (I went with chili flakes). I'd also consider adding ramen or rice noodles to this in the future for something a bit heavier, I bet it would be SO good.

Made this for my lunch break today. So delicious. Added some red onion I already had chopped up to the aromatics. Cannot wait to make it again. Need to add mushrooms to my next grocery order.

Made this for lunch and it was so delicious and warm! Snap peas are not in season where I live so I used some frozen peas and green beans. Thank you for the recipe.

Just made it! I've always been skeptical of making hot and sour soup at home (never tried it and a lot of my cooking experiments end in failure) but this tastes really good!

Hi Chris -- I don't eat mushrooms... Any suggestions for a replacement? I know mushrooms are a staple of this soup - so I never eat it, but the reviews were so good -- I'd like to try it. Thanks!!

This made for such a lovely lunch break--and good enough that I felt compelled to leave my first review! I had all the ingredients already, and threw in some brocc as well. Another winner, Chris.

Chris does it again! This was so tasty and a great way to load up on veggies. I didn’t have miso, so I subbed gochujang and threw in some broccoli. Definitely a winner.

I don’t see how much or what kind of fluid makes the soup? Oh - in the text 3 c water. Sounds like excellent proportions so I’ll try next soup day. End of this week shows rain.

We had this for lunch today. It was absolutely delicious. I had some mint and scallions in the fridge, so I sprinkled them on top.

Thank you so much for this recipe. I’ve added this to my “Quarantine Recipes” since I’ve love hot and sour soups For a long time. They are my comfort soups. I never thought of adding peas. Brilliant idea. Anything Chris makes is always a winner. i will be making this as soon as our Black Eyed Pea and Ham Soup is gone.
